LA LOMA
SYNOPSIS
LA LOMA follows the life of Gabino Cristorey, a poor yet hard-working young man and the illegitimate son of a wealthy doctor and prominent landowner in Colombia. After his estranged father dies, Gabino inherits a barren piece of land through a will, which has been illegally altered by the cruel and controlling matriarch of the family, Margot De Cristorey. Rumor has it that the land is infertile, unproductive, and even cursed. Against all expectations and recommendations, Gabino embarks on a mission to cultivate the land. With the help of his right-hand man, Atilio, Atilio's wife, Adelfa, and Atilio's niece, Agrado, Gabino transforms the land into a coffee bonanza and becomes a self-made entrepreneur, winning Agrado's heart in the process.
When the International Coffee Degustation arrives at the village, Gabino is skeptical about entering the competition. Although he believes he cannot win, local merchant and coffee organizer Eliseo Fierro cleverly persuades him to enter. Aron Feldman, a charismatic coffee trader from New York, travels to the prestigious degustation in search of Nariño’s best coffee. Gabino is shocked that his coffee wins the Coffee Degustation, while the charming Aron is pleasantly surprised to discover a coffee plantation that produces top-notch coffee. Aron strikes an honest and lucrative deal with Gabino and heads back to New York, determined to make LA LOMA coffee a household name in the American market.
This unforgivable feat of success infuriates Cayetano Buenaventura, a powerful and ruthless coffee tycoon who will do whatever it takes to remove Gabino from his path. Cayetano is a man corrupted by class division and money and lacks empathy toward the working class. Ultimately, the forces of good and evil clash in a brutal display of violence in this compelling pursuit of love, justice, and equality.
