Director's statement:
I wanted to write a story about the ways that we deal with death, especially deaths that were unexpected. Sometimes we don't get the answer we need from those people, living or even after they have passed. Kat wants to know her sister, to understand why she would've taken her own life but she won't ever know that answer now because her sister is gone. So she results in taking drastic measures, in hopes to know Lilly (her sister) better. The story is about familial love, and the hurt and anger we carry over someone that we greatly care about. There is a lot of anger in death, and that isn't talked as much and tends to be covered by the sadness. There is a lot of confusion and searching for these people. But they aren't there anymore, and we have to move on, for us and for them. Always.
