Vertical Buys Tribeca Horror Recluse for a 2027 Theatrical Run
Summary
Henry Chaisson's gothic debut, starring Sasha Frolova and Xander Berkeley, played Tribeca, Fantasia and FrightFest before landing its deal.
Vertical has acquired North American rights to Recluse, the feature debut of writer-director Henry Chaisson, and plans a theatrical release in the first half of 2027, Deadline and Dread Central reported on October 23. The gothic horror film stars Sasha Frolova, Xander Berkeley, Toby Poser, Mia Vallet, Kimball Farley and Frankie Seratch, and premiered at Tribeca before screening at Fantasia and FrightFest.
The film was produced by Josh Lobo, Gillian Cooper, Alex Dandino, Chaisson and Katharina Windemuth, with Points North and Restricted Pictures co-producing and Steven Schneider among the executive producers. Tony Piantedosi and Rachel White negotiated the deal for Vertical, and Mike Chapman of Blue Finch Films represented the filmmakers. "I'm thrilled to be partnering with Vertical to bring it to the big screen," Chaisson said. Schneider said the film "gets under your skin, then claws its way back out."
