Rob Savage's Molepeople Sets LaKeith Stanfield and Ben Mendelsohn

By Kinolime Editorial Team // Verified Human Journalist Review

Summary

Nathan Elston's original script sends a man into the tunnels beneath New York City, where he finds a twisted society living under the streets.
Rob Savage, director of this weekend's box office leader Other Mommy, will direct Molepeople, an original horror film from screenwriter Nathan Elston for Paramount Primal and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster. LaKeith Stanfield and Ben Mendelsohn star, with Stanfield replacing Anthony Ramos in the lead, a change revealed Friday at BlumFest at New York Comic Con.
The film follows a man who descends into abandoned tunnels beneath New York City and discovers a twisted society living under the streets. The Hollywood Reporter first revealed the logline. Jason Blum, J.D. Lifshitz, Raphael Margules and James Harris produce, with Elston and Savage among the executive producers. Savage said production begins soon and compared the film to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes. Molepeople opens August 27, 2027.
