Sundance Unveils Legacy Slate for Its First Boulder Festival

Summary

Y tu mama tambien, Better Luck Tomorrow and Real Women Have Curves lead the first titles announced for January 2027.
The Sundance Institute announced the first titles for the 2027 Sundance Film Festival on Wednesday, a Legacy program celebrating films from the festival's history, The Gazette reported. The selections are Justin Lin's Better Luck Tomorrow, Stacy Peralta's Dogtown and Z-Boys, Julie Taymor's Fool's Fire, Barbara Hammer's Nitrate Kisses, Patricia Cardoso's Real Women Have Curves, Tom Kalin's Swoon and Alfonso Cuaron's Y tu mama tambien, plus a two-part session built around Christopher Nolan's Memento.
The 2027 edition, the festival's first in its new home of Boulder, Colorado, runs January 21 to 31. World premieres screen January 21 to 26, and Legacy screenings, with filmmakers and cast attending, run January 27 to 31. Letterboxd will co-present the Legacy program. A full-festival express pass costs $7,500, and single tickets, priced at $37, go on sale January 8.
Festival director Eugene Hernandez said the program honors founder Robert Redford and the films that shaped the festival, adding that "Sundance will always uplift independent voices." More programming will be announced in the coming weeks.
