Paul is an English citizen living in London when he gets a call that his ex-wife has died of cancer. Paul arrives in Texas for the funeral and is greeted coldly by his estranged daughter Amy, who feels that Paul abandoned her and her mom. Amy’s stepdad decides it’s a good idea for Amy to accompany her dad on a road trip to LA and Amy begrudgingly goes along. When Amy cancels Paul’s credit card to force them to return home, they end up sleeping in Paul’s rental car. Paul a inadvertently witnesses a Mexican cartel member kill a family and flees the scene. The cartel member doggedly pursues Paul and his daughter and they must rely on their wits and each other to live through the night and find a way to stop the killer.
