Director's statement:
This screenplay was inspired by a car accident that shook our neighborhood during the Halloween season and sparked fears about safety. After hearing about the accident, I got to work researching many ideas for how I could pull it off. I almost gave up when my mom gave me some words of encourgement of showing everyone what I could do. So eventually, after many early drafts, I changed up my ending and added more characterization to the characters and changed up the dialogue to be less corny. I then got to work on a pitch, and after choosing many designs, I picked a metaphorical theme for my presentation. Eventually, when I showed it off to my class, I was hoping to assemble a team to bring my vision to life, but after voting was finished, my film idea was not chosen to be made. I was heartbroken and eventually broke down, but when my film teacher told me how this was normal, how I should keep trying to do better, I took his words to heart to this day. Even though this wasn't made into reality, I hope it does one day. This is dedicated to my film teacher, Andrew Norbeck, my mom for her support, and guest artist Carly Lujan.
