Screenplay Synopsis:
Teenage boy Michael is picked up from high school by his mom, Molly, and little sister, Maddie. Annoyed after a bad day at school, he starts an argument with Molly, which quickly escalates, with both yelling. During the shouting, Molly doesn't notice a drunk driver swerving towards them, and they are hit. After a week, Michael visits a therapist called Dr. Gabriel, where he reveals that every single time he sleeps, he is in two different-colored realities: a red one in which his mom is alive and a green one in which his sister is alive. As the days pass, he becomes even more depressed as each reality gets worse, and he seems not to exist. He soon realizes that he didn't consider the other possibility that he was the one who died. With Gabriel's help, he makes a hard decision and decides to remain dead, which creates a blue reality in which Molly and Maddie live while he dies happy.

Director's statement:

This screenplay was inspired by a car accident that shook our neighborhood during the Halloween season and sparked fears about safety. Initially, I wrote another film for my after-school cinema program called Cinema Conservatory, where I pitched my idea. However, it didn't resonate with everyone, so my teacher encouraged me to come up with something better. With my wild imagination, I brainstormed many ideas, but some just didn't fit. After watching the TV show "Awake," created by Kyle Killen, I found the inspiration I needed. I wrote a logline and presented it to my teacher. Despite his concerns, he advised me to write a new script during Christmas vacation. I took his advice to heart and dedicated time to writing in my hotel room whenever I could during the break. After sharing the script with my family and making some revisions, the final version turned out great. I dedicated this film to my film teacher, Andrew Norbeck, for helping make it a reality, to my mom for her words of encouragement, and to film artist Carly Lujan for her valuable suggestions.
