Ross is your average 11 year old, he has a crush on the lovely neighbor girl, Jan. Everything he tries to win her over fails. As things were about to get better, Theodore (11) the handsome, cocky, self-assured, talented, jack of all trades and master of all, moves into the neighbor and puts a new wheel on the wagon. Everything Theodore does is pure genius, and it always happens when Jan is around. But there's a sinister side to Theodore, and he starts to lead Jan down the primrose path as it puts Ross in a bit of a pickle on how to rescue her. Edwina, the plain Jane neighbor girl sees Ross in a different light, but goes unnoticed by most everyone. Elmer, the cemetery caretaker befriends Ross, and sees the plight he is in and comes up with a plan to win Jan over and save her from Theodore. Gus the ghost is buried in the cemetery, and with him in his grave is a fortune in gold. He rises from his grave every Halloween night, and any one brave enough to defeat him in battle will inherit the gold. Ross rises to the challenge and takes Theodore, Jan, and Edwina to the cemetery Halloween night to lay claim to the gold. At midnight Gus rises from the grave and a fight ensues, but the outcome is not what meets the eye.
