HOLLY LANE, an aspiring singer who works as a Candy/Vape Girl at a Hollywood nightclub and the single parent of a six-year-old son, SPIKE hires former Repo-man and down on his luck PI NICK ARMANO to find out who killed her ex-boyfriend and very small time hood, HUGO HAAS during a Chinese New Year's celebration. Initially they don't exactly hit it off but decide to work together since Nick needs a job and the police didn't seem to care enough for Holly to solve Hugo's demise. Nick soon discovers that Hugo was involved with international drug dealer and wannabe crime lord NERO VINCENT and his oddball henchmen, a menacing looking Asian named KONG and a robotic, hook handed Peter Lorre look-a-like named Felix Arcadian. While getting caught stealing drugs and overhearing their murder plot he was not meant to hear sealed Hugo's fate. The thugs are now after Holly but not for the reason she thinks (that they are looking for missing drugs and money she may now be in possession of). They are out to silence Holly because they fear Hugo may have passed on information to her about an assassination plot of a soon to visit foreign leader. Nero want's to expand his business beyond drugs to assassination for pay. Once Nick and Holly uncover this information they decide this should now be a matter for the police to handle. But when Holly's son Spike is kidnapped (while being watched by Holly's Jamaican BFF and neighbor YVONNE DUCHAMP) by the thugs to guarantee their silence, our couple must embark on a journey through a dark and perilous Los Angeles, matching their wits against the power mad Nero and company. Danger awaits Holly and Nick at every turn, from the back alleys and warehouses of Chinatown to the decaying splendor of Hollywood. The climax takes us from an assassination attempt at the Hollywood Bowl to a winding chase through Griffith Park and ultimately a shoot-out at the Hollywood Sign high above the city on Mount Lee. Once at odds, Holly and Nick are now headed towards a romance, while they solve a murder, thwart an assassination plot and recover a kidnapped child and stay alive in the process... No easy feat for the Lady in a Jam.
