Joe, a old-school hitman finds himself trapped in a cramped, tiny electric car driven by Benji, his twenty-something, eco-conscious partner. As they drive through the suffocating heat of the night to execute a routine contract, Benji subjects Joe to a relentless lecture about his high-cholesterol diet, the massive water footprint of cattle, and the urgency of the climate crisis.
Arriving at a suburban house, they finish the job. However, their troubles begin when they try to move the body. The target’s size makes it impossible to fit him into the tiny EV’s trunk. Forced to fold the body into the back row and secure the hatch with a bungee cord, they set off into the night.
The extra weight, combined with the air conditioner blasting on maximum to combat the heatwave, drains the car’s battery far faster than Benji’s calculations predicted. Stranded at a deserted charging station, Joe unleashes a furious rant about the incompetence of green technology in their line of work. Things turn deadly when a police cruiser arrives to investigate the suspicious vehicle. Joe settles the situation the only way he knows how, resulting in a second body jammed into the back of the micro-car.
At dawn they drive to their trusted dumping spot - a bridge over a deep lake where they have disposed of bodies for years.
SurprBut instead of the lake they see a bone-dry, cracked lakebed stretching for miles, littered with dead fish, rusted car wrecks, and stranded boats. The body rests motionless on the parched ground, completely exposed. Climate change has officially rewritten their story, leaving the two killers staring in disbelief at the consequences of the very crisis they ignored.
