Lent begins in a remote Colombian town plagued by a long drought. Noemí (17), an introverted teenager, cares for her sick father, the respected patriarch Benjamín (45), with the help of her aunt Romina (50) - a lonely, bald woman secretly in love with him. But for Noemí, Benjamín is not the devout leader everyone venerates, but an oppressive father. And one morning, driven by desperation and a sudden impulse, Noemí suffocates him to death.
But Noemí’s sudden sense of freedom fades when, shortly after Benjamín’s death, the long-awaited rain returns and Romina’s hair begins to grow back. For Nilton (54), the town’s priest, there is no doubt: these are Benjamín’s miracles. Benjamín is a saint.
A campaign for his beatification, led by Father Nilton, rekindles faith and hope in the community. Romina flourishes as the bearer of the miracle, while Noemí finds herself trapped amid the fanaticism and desperation of a town determined to sanctify its patriarch. But the arrival of Father Fabio (35), the investigator assigned to verify Benjamín’s cause, sows skepticism and suspicion. Tensions rise further as the unexpected closeness growing between him and Noemí becomes evident.
Caught between guilt and fear, and feeling haunted by the spirit of a vengeful Saint Benjamín, Noemí faces the mounting pressure of a community that begins to see her as a threat. The changes in her body and Fabio’s relentless questions threaten to reveal a secret that could destroy everything: Noemí is pregnant, and the child she carries is not only her son—but also her brother
