CONCEPT: In today's modernized world, a group of teens (and a nerdy little brother) collide with the old world's superstition and magical beliefs neither forgotten or abandoned by the early Scot / Irish Immigrants of Appalachia. This story blends those beliefs often termed - Appalachia Mountain Magic or Granny Magic into a modern myth with franchise characters.
STORY
Pinky is a college student living in a secure and stable world of the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. It's Halloween. Pinky, along with her pretentious cousin from the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and their dates, are en route to a football game. The teens are running late. Pinky knows a shortcut over the mountains - big mistake.
Unfortunately for Pinky, it is also the night of Samhain, the ancient pagan festival celebrated by the Celts - on this night they believed the barriers between this world and the dead could easily be crossed.
Disaster strikes - Pinky and her friends become trapped in the mountains by a Celtic warrior's spirit known as the Devil's Traveler.
Disaster Intensifies - Pinky's group is confronted by a mysterious, old mountain woman inked with elaborate Celtic tattoos. Although odd and superstitious, she possesses a surprising knowledge of the ancient Celts and a mastery of mountain magic.
The teens dismiss this Granny Woman as a crazy lunatic wandering the mountains. However, unbeknown to them, she is the spirit of the Druidess who cursed the Devil's Traveler - she is the mentor in preventing the Devil Traveler's freedom.
Pinky's knowledge of Appalachian culture and its legendary mountain women allows our young heroine to gradually trust this peculiar Woman. Pinky learns that she has a major role in this evil spirit's presence and that the Devil's Traveler is here to specifically capture someone - his last descendant - is it Pinky or Ashley, her cousin?
The Devil's Traveler must be defeated or all will perish. In a desperate step Pinky accepts the old woman's babbling, she commits herself to a final effort to save herself and the teens - she attempts to summon her own magical energy and transport the Devil's Traveler back to ancient Ireland - a task she proves more than equal to.
