Marlowe is a popular, extroverted, and fourth-wall-breaking high school senior who's about to graduate and spend her last summer before going off to college. However, her normal, positive life is upended when her loving father tragically dies.
But Marlowe’s an upbeat people pleaser so she’s unnerved when she still suffers from depression and grief from her dad’s passing after a month. Some of her friends and family are also inconsiderate and want her to return to her normal, bubbly self. Refusing to stay depressed and wanting to please her friends and family, Marlowe decides to pretend to be happy. But with her family and friends suspicious and her grief never disappearing, her façade can only last for so long until she breaks.
