A middle-aged man is clearing out the house of his recently deceased mother when he realises he’s lost something precious to her, and therefore to him. Frustrated and exhausted, he fights an urge to watch pornography and heads for the train station.
After narrowly missing his train home, the urge overcomes him and he masturbates to hardcore pornography in a public toilet. Upon emerging, he sees an apparition of a young woman on the platform. She looks eerily similar to a person in the video he just watched. The Woman follows him and jumps on his back, attaching herself and refusing to let go. The man realises only he can see her.
He returns home to his wife and daughter, where he keeps asking his wife if she’s seen the necklace. Weary at his obsessive and strange behaviour in the wake of his mother’s death, she tires of his constant questioning and they argue passive aggressively over the dinner table. He washes the dishes and goes to bed with the Woman still attached to his back, feeling isolated from his loved ones.
The next morning, he gives the Woman a sip of alcohol and she starts to fall asleep. The man escapes from her grip and charges out of the house, ecstatic to be free. He immediately goes to his mother’s home to continue clearing out her stuff. But the Woman reappears and chases him inside. He blocks the door and starts searching for the necklace. Finally finding it, the man looks up and notices the woman has disappeared.
A few days later the man attends his first Sex Addicts Anonymous meeting but, again, sees the Woman is there waiting for him. This time, however, she is fully clothed and no longer appears to be an apparition, but a normal human being. They exchange an ambiguous smile.
