Chevy Foster has had almost every one of his dreams crushed through unfortunate circumstances and traumatic events (one of these left him paralyzed from the waist down). Now living alone and in his twenties, Chevy leads a simple and unmotivated life in solitude, despite his many talents.
At the same time, world famous movie star Sydney Miller is charged with the murder of his wife and beloved actress Sarah Goldman. On the morning he arranged to turn himself him to the police, he instead fleas and leads the Los Angeles Police Department on an hour long chase. With nowhere else to go, he panics and drives to his childhood home for shelter, which just so happens to be the same home where Chevy Foster now resides.
Sydney, along with his defense attorney and best friend, take breaks into Chevy's home for protection from the police. Because of Sydney's high profile, the police surround the outside of the home but refuse to break down the doors due to the risk of injuring or killing him. While the police plan their course of action on the outside, Sydney and Chevy learn from each other on the inside.
