Set in the 21st Century at a small Liberal Arts College on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, Dr. Natalie Neuman, a neurotic 35-year-old Psychology Professor wants nothing more than to attain Tenure. Despite her stellar teaching and research record and her willingness to wait on her colleagues hand and foot, her lack of Service to the College puts her at risk of not being granted Tenure. The soon-to-be vacant Division Chairship might be her only hope.
Natalie’s myopic focus on the Chairship and on her Tenure portfolio is soon distracted by Dr. Julian Jasper, a gorgeous new British Professor, who has taken the Division by storm. While everyone else seems immediately awed and enamored by him, it takes time for Natalie to recognize that his good looks are in fact accompanied by a bright and creative intellect, as well as a chivalrous, genuine and charming wit. When they are placed on a committee together, Natalie and Julian have a chance to not only explore the college’s strategic plan, but also the opportunity for a meaningful and exciting relationship with one another.
Just as Natalie is buying into his charm, his chivalry and his countless attempts to woo her, she recognizes that he may have been vying all along for the Division Chair position that she might need to secure her Tenure portfolio. After little to no recognition at a faculty meeting to learning Julian has in fact secured the Division Chair position, Natalie decides to interview at another college.
Despite the benefits of the new college, a chat with an old and respected professor reminds Natalie of why she endeavored to enter this field in the first place. After a surprise visit by Julian and a focus on her true life goals, Natalie’s personal and professional aspirations take a turn for the…best!
