Director's statement:
“the Valentine volcano” script is a testament to a profound and universal truth I feel compelled to share. At its heart, this story is about the hidden reality within every human life a secret chamber of the soul where our most personal truths reside, often obscured even from ourselves.
This narrative draws its central metaphor from the natural world. Just as our planet conceals a molten, living core beneath a seemingly stable crust, so too does every individual carry within them a hidden depth of passion, memory, and fundamental truth. The world itself, in all its grandeur, is a whispered secret, a truth veiled in layers of mystery and everyday routine.
My approach in crafting this tale was to mirror this very concealment. The story does not shout its truths; it implies them. It uses suggestion, symbolism, and the quiet spaces between words to create a tapestry of meaning. It is an invitation for the audience to become active participants, to feel the subtle tremors beneath the surface of the characters' lives, and to recognize those same tremors within themselves.
