Jack Boston is a US Ranger with several years of experience. He is currently deployed
in Germany. On his flight back home, he meets Paul Brenton, an ex-military bomb man
with a good sense of humor. They bond on the plane. News of a deadly virus and
mysterious creatures killing people spread in the plane. This sends the passengers into
a frenzy. The copilot manages to calm them down. When the plane lands, the
passengers are educated on the virus by a medical team. The virus is called the “corona
virus” and the creatures are dubbed “corona bats”. It is airborne. Jack can’t get hold of
his family. Paul on the other hand is able to. Jack and Paul part ways.
Jack rushes home. Jack is stunned to find his house in disarray with his wife and kids
nowhere in sight. A voicemail from Lily instructs Jack to go to Lilly’s father’s place in
Texas where she and the kids are safe. Jack upon hearing this quickly races to leave
the house but he is stopped by his neighbor Phil who is infected. Phil attacks Jack and a
brawl ensues. Jack cannot overpower him so he finds Phil’s pickup truck and drives
away. Phil chases him. A brutal car chase ends with Phil being smashed off the pickup
by a semi-truck.
Jack checks into a motel for the night. Two corona bats attack the motel. They chase
Jack. Jack finds a gun and escapes the motel leaving in Phil’s truck. The creatures
chase him. Jack kills them but the truck is destroyed. Jack gets a ride from a kind
stranger who is also headed for Texas. On their way they pick up Paul whose car is
damaged. The stranger drops them off at Jack’s father-in-law’s mansion. Jack is
reunited with his family. But it is cut short when two corona bats attack the mansion.
Jack, Paul and Jack’s father-in-law: known as Mr. Wader kill the two corona bats.
Afterwards they fight the corona bats in the neighborhood using powerful military
vehicles. This leads them to a battlefield where the Texas Military Forces are losing
against a legion of corona bats. They turn the tides and kill all the corona bats in the
area. But just then, a big corona bat almost thirty feet tall, attack them. After an intense
battle, Jack defeats the beast. Jack and Paul accepts Mr. Wader’s proposal to join
Phoenix. Then, they head home.
