To fulfill their deceased father's last wishes, Ling, 18, and her brother, Pho, 12, travel to bring his ashes to his hometown.
During their journey, they learn about a shrine in the woods that only appears every full moon.
Legend says, if you burn someone's ashes in the shrine it can bring the dead back to life.
Deciding to find the shrine, their motorcycle breaks down and they meet a mysterious old lady.
The old lady lets them stay in her house for the night.
While staying in the house, a ghost of a boy haunts Ling and Pho. The two decide to leave the house the next morning.
But when Ling wakes up, she discovers Pho and their father's urn is nowhere to be found. Ling suspects that the old lady kidnapped Pho and hid their father's urn.
The siblings each learn that the old lady is trying to resurrect her dead son, and the lacking ingredient is a human sacrifice — Pho.
A struggle ensues between Ling and the old lady where Ling saves Pho. They push the old lady into the furnace and burn her to death - completing the ritual with their father’s ashes.
They resurrect their father… or so they think.
Realising the resurrected being is not truly their father, Ling and Pho must destroy the evil entity and learn to let go.
