Screenplay Synopsis:
Jim “CRICK” Crickshaw would never pick up a hitchhiker but he makes an exception one soggy night when an anxious stranger, MORRIS, helps him get his truck started on an isolated backroad in Washington State. Crick faces his worst fear when a gun falls from Morris’ coat, though Morris insists that he only has the gun so he can use it on himself — he is a werewolf, he claims, and he just can’t live with it anymore. Crick laughs at the absurdity of it until Morris hands him the gun and begs him to pull the trigger. Crick refuses. Morris forces his hand by handcuffing them together. “The full moon will peak in two hours…” Morris laments, “Either you kill me, or the wolf kills you.” Crick rolls his eyes and makes it his mission to get himself free of this lunatic as fast as possible. But as the night goes on it gets harder and harder to dismiss Morris’ story. He grows sicker with the waxing moon. His senses seem to sharpen. His strength seems to increase. But is it all really happening or is Crick just succumbing to the stress of the situation and the power of suggestion? More importantly, can he figure it out before the moon is full and one of them ends up dead?
